OPENING WINTER 2026 Opening our doors this winter!

Ballet Folklorico in Ventura County

Ventura County has deep Mexican roots and no shortage of dance studios, but a studio dedicated to Ballet Folklorico is rare. Garcia Folklorico Studio, La Casa del Folklor, teaches folklorico and only folklorico, with bilingual classes for ages 1 through 18. Families join us from Oxnard, Ventura, Camarillo, Port Hueneme, and beyond. Now enrolling for Winter 2026.

One Studio, Easy to Reach from Anywhere in the County

Our studio sits at 2012 Saviers Road in South Oxnard, minutes from Port Hueneme and a straightforward drive from Ventura, Camarillo, El Rio, and Saticoy. Families who want dedicated folklorico training regularly make the trip, because the alternative is a general dance studio where folklorico is one class among many, if it is offered at all.

Classes run in seasonal blocks with live schedules on our schedule page, so you can pick a time that works with your commute before you enroll.

Why Families Choose a Dedicated Folklorico Studio

Specialization shows. Every class at Garcia Folklorico Studio is taught by Ms. Itzel with authentic regional repertoire from Jalisco, Sinaloa, and Veracruz, real skirt technique, and the cultural context behind every dance. Our five age-graded groups mean a 3 year old and a 16 year old each get a class actually built for them: Mommy & Me, Semillas, Botones de Flor, Elementary, and Raices.

Beyond classes, the studio serves the county's dance community with hourly studio rental, a favorite rehearsal space for quinceañera courts and dance groups across Ventura County.

Questions from County Families

Is the drive from Ventura or Camarillo worth it?

Families tell us yes, for one reason: their child is learning real folklorico, not a watered-down version squeezed between hip-hop and tap. Seasonal blocks and consistent weekly times make the commute easy to plan around.

Do you offer classes in Spanish?

Every class is bilingual, English and Spanish in the same room. Visit our página en español for the full overview in Spanish.

How do we start?
